The Christmas Tour
As featured in the November 2010 issue of NZ House and Garden and one of the highlights of our festival, we are privileged once again to be able to present to you four fantastic Marlborough homes decorated for the upcoming festive season. With limited seating available this year, it is a must if you look forward to Christmas as much as we do. You will see titivated entrance ways, beautifully dressed trees and Christmas tables laid with all that is wonderful about this season. You will be able to visit The Christmas Shop and enjoy nibbles and refreshments along the way.
Alpine Splendour Tour
Nestled at the northern end of the spectacular Southern Alps, the gardens of St Arnaud will delight and surprise you. We have drawn together a selection of stunning alpine gardens for you to discover. Included in this tour is your transport, morning and afternoon tea, including a delicious Devonshire tea at the historic Tophouse, and a sumptuous lunch at the Alpine Lodge. DOC Botanist Sandra Wotherspoon will lead us for a walk alongside a picturesque stream, through pristine native forest filled with the song of the fantails and bellbirds that abound there. A portion of the ticket price goes towards plants for the forest restoration project. For this tour however you must wear sturdy footwear and bring a warm jacket.
Rapaura Garden Tour
Rapaura’s free draining alluvial soils provides the perfect conditions for thriving gardens. On this tour you will explore this stunning countryside providing some fantastic gardens. You will visit five fabulous gardens and, as a delicious treat, Makana Confections. Inspiration and indulgence are the key ingredients of this wonderful tour. Sit back, relax and enjoy.
Omaka Garden Tour
Our Omaka tour explores some amazing gardens. Tranquil ponds, serene lakes, woodlands and birds to inspire and surprise you. As part of this tour you will be taken to our sponsors Hunters Wines. You will have the opportunity to view their picturesque native gardens and sample (and purchase) some of their marvellous fine wines.
East Coast Garden Tour
Our always popular East Coast tour promises to give you an amazing selection of wonderful gardens to wander through and enjoy with each having their own special personality and ambience. With breathtaking scenery, a delicious lunch at The Store and spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean need we say more. We have a special treat for you at the historic Oak Tree Cottage that will top off a very exciting day.
Urban Garden Tour
Hiding behind hedges and fences, tempting us with glimpses of colour our selection of exquisite town gardens will surprise and inspire you. This half day tour includes your transport and a morning or afternoon tea depending on your choice of time.
Sounds Experience
The Marlborough Sounds have been described as one of the most spectacular sites in the World. If you have not visited them before you are in for a real treat. Your day starts with a twenty minute bus trip from Blenheim to Picton where you will board one of Cougar Lines vessels and embark on a trip accentuated by birdsong, native bush and breathtaking views, visiting Ships Cove, the Bay of Many Coves, the Lazy Fish and Mistletoe Bay before being transported back to Blenheim.
