As featured in the November 2010 issue of NZ House and Garden and one of the highlights of our festival we are privileged once again to be able to present to you four fantastic Marlborough homes decorated for the upcoming festive season. With limited seating available this year, early booking is a must if you look forward to Christmas as much as we do. You will see titivated entrance ways, beautifully dressed trees and Christmas tables laid with all that is wonderful about this season. You will be able to visit The Christmas Shop and enjoy nibbles and refreshments along the way.
Alan and Liz Walker’s Home
Alan and Liz are creating the special magic of Christmas together with the aim of sharing it with others. They combine traditional reds and greens, nativity scenes with modern, trendy and funky designs to build up a collection that can be handed down to future generations. Add lights, candles and music, flowers and table settings. The atmosphere will inspire you to create your own individual Christmas.
Tony and Pip Hawke’s Home
Tony and Pip’s stunning country home will definitely put you in the festive spirit. Decorated throughout with greenery, Christmas trees, lights and nativity scenes; it will fast forward you to December 25. Pip has provided you with table settings for both inside and out. In the kitchen, the heart of this home, you will be treated with refreshments and tastes of Christmas; all aimed at ensuring you have a memorable experience.
Brian and Nanette Bunting’s Home
Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of Nanette and Brian’s home nestled between the orchard and vineyards. Wander through, enjoying the traditional colours that decorate this home leading to the extensive formal outdoor area, dressed up in a children’s Christmas Party theme set beside the pool.
Feel free to take home recipes from the divine food that is offered on the tour and enjoy a candlelit stroll through the vineyard to the Grapevine Company’s Christmas Shoppe.
Robin and Lynne Hammond’s Home
Christmas comes to life when you visit Robin and Lynne’s beautiful Victorian homestead filled with character and charm. Set amongst formal gardens you will be inspired by its beauty and elegance as you are transported back to a Christmas of yesteryear.Enjoy a glass of Hunters fine wine whilst you experience the ultimate vintage Christmas, surrounded by antique furniture, chandeliers and luxurious fabrics.
