Francine Thomas FloristryFrancine ThomasFrancine is a bubbly, energetic designer with a great sense of humour which is very contagious and can be seen in her work. Being driven by the philosophy that we are inspired by what we see, touch and feel within, she will entertain and energise you.Coming from a family of florists Francine brings us a wealth of experience from country Garden Clubs to Floral Theatre presentations. Prior to setting up her own business ‘A Floral affair by Francine’ in June 2010 she worked as the manager for a Floral Wholesaler. Her formal background in Horticulture has seen her attain the Floral Art Society of New Zealand’s National Diploma’s in Demonstrating, Judging and Teaching, which she combines with a wealth of practical knowledge, first hand know-how, and a passion for the art, to provide us with two wonderful experiences.Francine has also attended many workshops with overseas designers, including Gregor Lersch, Tomas de Bruyne, Maire-Franciose Deprez and Irene Brockwell who have inspired her and no doubt assisted with her success in so many competitions. Her record speaks for itself with Gold at the Bay of Plenty Designer of the Year 2006, 3rd place in 2007 National Designer of the Year, 2nd and 3rd in Structured Elegance Bouquet at the 2010 Floravisionz Exhibition and Gold in the Bay of Plenty Designer of the Year 2010 ‘Give it a Go’. This has established her reputation as one of New Zealand’s most influential Floral Designers.Presenting her workshop “What a Mix” she will use flowers and foliages to show you just how to make the most of any season. This is a hands-on workshop, (strictly limited to 20 people- so book early to avoid disappointment) to be held at the Heartland Hotel, which includes a delicious morning tea on Saturday 5th November from 9.00am until noon. Her second workshop is a demonstration, also to be held at the Heartland Hotel. She has named it “I heard it through the Grapevine” and should be both inspirational and fun. This will take place on Sunday from 10.00am until 12.30pm, so there’s plenty of time to visit the fete, then sit back and enjoy afternoon tea and entertainment with the fabulous Francine and her flowers. Remember all arrangements will be auctioned with proceeds to our Charity at the end of the demonstration.Workshop details (all prices inc. GST)
