“Christmas by Design”

Anna Robertson began floristry at the early age of 11 working in a florist shop in Whakatane, 29 years ago. After leaving school she was trained by noted floral designer Denise Wilson of Te Awamutu. At the age of 20 Anna then purchased the very florist shop where she began her love of flowers, owning it for 13 years with her most supportive Mum, Sue. As past President of New Zealand Professional Florists, Co-ordinator and Tutor of the Bay of Plenty Polytechnic floristry programme until 2003 she has had great opportunity to experience all realms of the floral industry. Winning titles including Interflora Designer of the Year 1991-1999, Interflora Junior Designer of the Year (U21) and finalist in Teleflora Designer of the Year has opened many exciting international doors taking Anna to destinations around the world. A highlight includes working on high society events in the United Kingdom. Having demonstrated and taught throughout New Zealand, Australia and England, Anna has enjoyed a feast of floral experiences. Attending workshops by designers including Gregor Lersch, Sue Artus, Tor Gunderson, Max van de Sluis, Tomas de Bruyne, Per Benjamin, Pim van den Akker has inspired and ‘recharged her floral batteries’ to continue to enjoy the ever creative botanical world. Based in Tauranga with her partner Ian and daughter Alicia, Anna works from her studio, Silver Bubbles, by appointment. Morning 9.00am – 12.00noon Christmas Bauble
Create a Christmas decoration with a difference that you can continue to enjoy well throughout the year. Designed to feature on a coffee table or sideboard, your design will be a great talking point for all the right reasons! It’s bound to twinkle and features gorgeous garden treasures. Decide how natural or sparkly you want to make it. Keep it for yourself, or treat someone special to a unique floral gift.
Afternoon 1.30pm – 3.30pm Floral Christmas Show and Tell
A floral Christmas collection that will leave you inspired to try for yourself. Enjoy a flowery afternoon showcasing a selection of classical, ornate and natural festive styles. Sit back and relax watching a magical botanical Christmas unfold in front of you. Select your favourite and win the design by auction.
All materials will be provided for this workshop.
