Thailand and immigrated to New
Zealand in 1994.
She has been in the design and
export industries, both overseas and
in New Zealand for almost 20 years.
After taking various courses she
became very passionate on New
Zealand gardening in particular
topiary and hedges.
From 2005 she became a tutor
of topiary courses this included
propagation, care and design for the
Canterbury Horticulture Society.
Jean has toured over 200 garden
clubs and societies and has gained
a wealth of knowledge with topiary
of all kinds.
Jean owns and runs a garden
nursery ‘Artistic Plants’ specialising
in Topiary and Hedges in
Christchurch.
This style is now becoming a strong
trend in contemporary gardens. Topiary and hedging can suit the
traditional and modern landscapes.
Jean will demonstrate on Saturday
and give practical advice as well as
talk about the many ways that a
‘plant’ can be turned into something
artistically pleasing having
rewarding results.
On Sunday the discussion will be
‘gardens of our time’ what are the
new and exciting trends for the
garden of today and the future.
